In my fantasyland, I would like to blend all perspectives, points of view, and preferences and orchestrate an existence in which EVERYONE could live with and flourish under... giving each their earned "props" and making choices for the whole on the basis of composite wisdom gathered during a process of "equal involvement."

I believe that no one will walk away from their job or their country for being asked to kill or steal, they will rationalize the matter .... yet somehow some are suggesting that it is noble to walk away from their friends and families because of religious corruption. That's the tie ...

Hypothetical:
You work for a credit card company who imposes a $39 late charge for all payments recieved as little as one day after the 15th of the month. During any given work shift you process a couple of thousand envelopes with payments included. On one particular 15th your supervisor tells you to ignor the mail for that day and assigns you to another task. This action increases revenue for the company as well as compounding the debt of the clients who have been informed in the "fine print" that "the firm cannot be responsible for delays in the mail." Is anyone guilty of stealing?
That even though God in Heaven could not control his spiritual creation (Satan) and thus sent him to mess up the earth by doing battle with humans (now that's a great matchup!), it was my sole responsibility to prove to the universe that Satan is wicked ... doing so by my conduct and thus accomplishing the task that the Almighty apparently didn't wish to deal with above and had subsequently "dumped" on flesh and blood.
Oh how I wish I was that important!!!

As a US Soldier, you kill a suspected terrorist in a marketplace in Baghdad. Across the street a shopowner straps a bomb to his wife who blows up your fellow soldiers. Do either have a guilty conscience? Are either or both wrong?

The issue I have is that I believe where we exist on this planet dictates the definition of "conscience." Killing, stealing, and even what we could call pedophilia are legal and commonplace in some cultures. So, if you or I move to Asia, Africa, Scandinavia, or the Middle East might our core values change?
Additionally, millions of incarcerated individuals around the globe are temporarily restrained from commiting vile acts against their particular society which suggests to me that my "fear of punishment" concept is recognized by governments ...
